Unable to find alternate, later dates to move the event, Emerald Outdoor has decided to cancel and not postpone Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2020. The event was scheduled for June 23-25, 2020 in Denver, Colo. That means the next OR Show will be winter show scheduled for January 27-29, 2021 at the Colorado Convention Center. The next summer show will be held June 15-17, 2021, also in Denver.
“Recent developments have made it impossible to effectively execute a June show that delivers the level of connection, discovery, and value our community expects,” said show director Marisa Nicholson.
No plans were announced regarding a replacement virtual event, but Emerald said it and the outdoor business unit are “exploring all ideas, platforms and technologies that can best serve the outdoor industry now and in the future. Details around digital solutions reportedly will be announced as they are available.
Hotel reservations made through EventSphere will be cancelled. At this time, attendees have not been charged for these reservations. EventSphere will be reaching out to everyone with active reservations to assist with cancelling or rebooking hotels. All active exhibitors and sponsors can roll deposits over to the January or June 2021 show or request a full refund of their Summer Market 2020 payment. Each company will be required to submit their request through an online portal. OR said that account executives will be in touch with exhibitors regarding the next steps.
