Osprey Names New President

Osprey Packs announced Layne Rigney has joined the company as its president. Layne most recently served as president of CamelBak.

As Osprey’s president, Rigney will be focused on the development and expansion of the brand globally, said the company. His first day at Osprey is November 28, 2016. Before joining CamelBak, Rigney held positions at Franklin Resource Group as the vice president and general manager from 2003 to 2005, at PowerBar as director of sports retail strategic business unit and national sales manager from 1999 to 2003, and at RockShox Inc. in various sales positions from 1992 to 1995. He is a board member of both the Outdoor Industry Association and Camber Outdoors, both of which are supported by Osprey.

Also at Osprey, Jason Dunlap has been named as vice president of finance and will oversee the company’s financial operation, Scott Pfotenhauer, a director of the company, has been appointed Chairman of the Board. “These additions solidify Osprey’s talented leadership team, allowing the company’s Founder, Mike Pfotenhauer, to fully concentrate his talents and efforts on product design and innovation, as well as the strategic vision for the company,” said Osprey in the official release.
