OR Show Owner Seeks Buyer for Trade-Show Unit

According to reports, Nielsen Holdings plans to sell its trade conferences unit Nielsen Expositions, which owns and operates the Outdoor Retailer Summer and Winter Markets, as well as Interbike. A sell is being considered in order for Nielsen to focus on its core audience measurement business, according to an anonymous source who spoke to Bloomberg.com.

The company reportedly is working with Credit Suisse Group AG to seek buyers for Nielsen Expositions. Nielsen Expositions so far has declined comment.

Nielsen Expositions generated sales of $183 million in 2012, according to the company’s annual report. The company recently agreed to buy radio-ratings firm Arbitron Inc. for about $1.26 billion in cash and formed a partnership with Twitter Inc. to monitor discussions of TV shows on the social network.
