Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) announced plans to open its next new store in Langley, British Columbia. The 16,000-square-foot store will open in late June in Willowbrook Shopping Centre, on the Fraser Highway near the Langley Bypass.
The new door is the outdoor retail co-operative’s third location in the Lower Mainland, its fourth in BC, and seventeenth in Canada.
“People who love being active in the outdoors will find plenty to be excited about in MEC’s Langley store,” said MEC CEO David Labistour. “From traditional outdoor activities like climbing and paddling through to urban pursuits such as cycling and road running, the store will offer a broad selection of all the great gear, apparel and accessories that MEC is renowned for.”
MEC Langley will employ approximately 25 people, including 5 senior staff. Recruitment for the store manager and other senior staff positions is currently underway.
