Mammut Adds Pro Skier Kye Petersen as Ambassador

Mammut, which has provided high-performance mountain equipment for over 160 years, announced the addition of world-renowned freeskier Kye Petersen to its roster of athletes and ambassadors. The partnership marks a step in Mammut’s commitment to the skiing community, essentially bringing on board one of the most influential and skilled figures in the world of freeride and big mountain skiing.

A Whistler, B.C., Canada native, Peterson is regarded for his innovative approach to skiing and ability to gracefully navigate challenging terrain. Petersen, Mammut noted, “embodies the spirit of adventure and excellence that Mammut represents.”

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Kye to the Mammut team,” said VP of Brand and Marketing NAM, Mammut, Maddie Petry. “Kye does everything with purpose and intent through a lens of safety, which is the essence of the Mammut brand and how we strive to create products. This partnership is especially exciting because Kye will be representing all aspects of Mammut in the mountains, from his projects and future plans to representation of apparel and hardgoods. Our values as a brand align with Kye’s values as an athlete and we look forward to showcasing that together in the years to come.”

Kye will be actively involved in product development, providing insight and feedback to continue driving Mammut’s mountain gear to meet the highest performance and safety standards. He will also partner on content, events, films and other efforts to grow the Mammut community in North America.

“Mammut truly aligns with my values of being as much a part of all aspects and activities the mountains provide,” said Petersen. “From my past, present and future, I can’t think of a better brand that fits with my lifestyle and career. From mountain safety, to high quality technical wear, to being involved in all aspects of mountain culture – I couldn’t be more proud to be working with Mammut. I can’t wait to see the evolution of the brand and myself as we grow together and support each other’s goals, from my backyard in the mountains of North America to well beyond.”

Kye’s latest short film – the final episode of a five-part series entitled, “Sacred Grounds” is now available. Sacred Grounds documents the adventures and undiscovered zones that hold the best possible terrain for the cast’s passion for skiing. The short film series by Matchstick Productions goes from Kye’s backyard in B.C., to the far reaches of Northern B.C. and Alaska, as well as Japan, Columbia and beyond.
