L.L.Bean to Open Virginia Beach Store

L.L.Bean announced plans to open its third store in Virginia in the Lynnhaven Mall in Virgina Beach. The store is scheduled to open this spring.

The 16,700-square-foot store is the company’s 28th retail store outside of Maine. The store will employ approximately 100 people.

Current L.L.Bean Virginia locations include stores at Tysons Corner Center in McLean and at the Short Pump Town Center in Richmond. In March, L.L.Bean said it would bring its U.S. store count to 100 by 2020.

“One of the reasons this will be a great home for us is due to all of the great outdoor activities that abound, from paddling and fishing on the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay to hiking and cycling in the several state parks nearby,” said Ken Kacere, senior vice-president and general manager of retail at L.L.Bean. “We’re excited to be introducing the L.L.Bean brand to the people of the Virginia Beach area, where they can touch, see, feel and experience the true essence of an outdoor store, combined with a bit of the Maine spirit.”
