L.L.Bean announced the impending opening of its newest retail location, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The outdoor retailer continues to invest in physical stores – such as this Silver Spring Square brick-and-mortar – as prat of its ongoing, omni-channel growth strategy.
Its ultimate goal is to make L.L.Bean goods accessible to more people through a variety of channels.
The Mechanicsburg store is its second location to open this year, and the fourth in P.A..
This 18,000-square-foot retail experience is situated in the scenic Cumberland Valley and surrounded by outdoor destinations such as the Appalachian Trail and Susquehanna River. It will specifically support L.L.Bean’s purpose of enabling people to experience the restorative power of the outdoors. Whether hiking, kayaking or exploring local parks and trails, the store is expected provide the community with the gear and inspiration needed to get outside and enjoy nature.
Customers can explore an assortment of men’s, women’s and kid’s active and casual apparel in L.L.Bean’s full-size range, plus outerwear, footwear, gear, hard goods and home goods, all with full L.L.Bean customer service. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 21, and will include:
- Sep 20 (8:45 a.m.) – Ribbon cutting with L.L.Bean representatives, local elected officials and YMCA partners.
- Sep 20 (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) – First 100 customers will receive an L.L.Bean $50 gift card (both days)
- Line up starts at 6 a.m. – Boot lace customization bar; family activities, trail mix bar and refreshments and photos with the L.L.Bean Bootmobile
As part of its commitment to the community, L.L.Bean will also make a $10,000 contribution to The YMCA of Westshore, supporting its ongoing work as a community-focused organization promoting youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, while improving quality of life for residents on the western shore of the Susquehanna River. The donation will be in addition to L.L.Bean’s multi-year charitable partnership with YMCA, which has totaled more than $1.5 million since 2022.
L.L.Bean’s Silver Spring Square store will be located at 6416 Carlisle Pk., Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. Store hours are Mon-Sat (9 a.m. – 9 p.m.), Sun (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.).
