Katadyn Group to Acquire Makers of SteriPEN

Katadyn Group announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the assets of Hydro-Photon, Inc. the makers of ultraviolet, handheld water purifier the SteriPEN. The acquisition is planned to close near the end of July 2017.

SteriPEN’s marketing and distribution operations will move to Katadyn’s North American headquarters in Minneapolis, Minn. SteriPEN will maintain a small technical office in Ellsworth, Maine.

SteriPEN will provide new purification products to our customers, allowing Katadyn the widest range of safe drinking water options for travelers, backpackers, militaries and humanitarian organizations around the world.”

Katadyn Group has acquired a number brands in the last decade, including Optimus Stoves, AlpineAire Foods and Spectra Watermakers.
