INVISTA’s CORDURA Brand Announces Struktur Event Sponsorship

INVISTA’s CORDURA was honored as a sponsor for the second annual Struktur Event, a unique creative conference for the active outdoor design industry, last week in Portland. As part of the sponsorship, the CORDURA brand collaborated with High Above, Carryology and Bellroy to create a limited-edition bag designed exclusively for Struktur attendees.

In its second year, Struktur is a cross-disciplinary event, exploring the intersection of user experience, trend research, materials science, and their influence on design. Struktur isn’t a fashion show or a trade show – it’s a chance to experience the breakthrough ideas of a new age of design.

“We were excited to collaborate with Struktur participants to share knowledge and insights of the fabric technology advancements designed for outdoor, active and lifestyle products,” says global CORDURA brand and marketing director Cindy McNaull. “The CORDURA brand is dedicated to supporting designers. We enjoyed working with High Above, Carryology and Bellroy to showcase our commitment to the design community with limited edition bags.”

This year’s conference explored the themes of design leadership and design communication, including what it means to run a design-focused company, how to develop and sustain creative teams, how to succeed in the new selling environment, and more.

“It was meaningful to partner with a brand that is as dedicated to the design community as CORDURA fabric,” said Struktur coordinator Michelle Rose. “We’ve received incredible positive feedback and have witnessed successful ideas and partnerships from the past two shows and look forward to potential new locations and projects for Struktur’s future.”

Speakers represented brands including Nau, Poler Outdoor Stuff, Swift Industries, Range, GearCommons, Hipcamp, Carryology, Giro, Snow Peak, Shwood, Topo Designs, The Mountain Lab, and more.

“Struktur is important because there are so many talented creative and design leaders in the outdoor/active industry that need a neutral place they can come to share ideas, share experiences and walk away engaged and excited,” said Range founder, Jeanine Pesce. “I have built some incredible professional and personal relationships with some of the people I met at the event, and it just feels like the beginning of something truly beautiful and inspiring.”
