Outdoor Retailer announced today that industry veteran Larry Harrison has joined the staff as Brand Development Director. Harrison, who recently retired from adidas Outdoor as their Director of Sales, brings more than 40 years of industry knowledge and relationship building to his new role.
In this new role, Harrison reportedly will work closely with retailers, reps and manufacturers to ensure the tradeshow meets their disparate requirements. He will also lend his expertise to the sales and retail relations teams at Outdoor Retailer. It is expected that Harrison will be traveling frequently listening to the many voices of the outdoor industry. “Expect me to appear at your door or regional show,” he said, “I want to hear what you have to say.”
Harrison has worked with an array of notable brands that include Eagle Creek, JanSport, Lowa, Rockport, Sierra Designs and Wilderness Experience. He also served for 10 years on the Outdoor Industry Association Board of Directors and three years as the first male member of the Outdoor Industry Women’s Coalition Board.
“I have been on a truly rewarding journey in our business and a change of focus from building a retail network to service and support, with the goal of a stronger industry it seems natural as I extend my career,” said Harrison. “Outdoor Retailer has an amazing team, passionate about creating a tight knit community of retailers, reps and brands to enliven the outdoor experience for the community.”
