Eagle Creek Wins Nat Geo Gear of Year Award

Eagle Creek has won the Gear of the Year Award from National geographic Adventure for its 2-in-1 Ultra Light Backpack / Duffel from its new line of convertible Day Travelers. The honor, bestowed in June, 2014 shows that quality and multi-functionality can come in ultra light packages, says the company.

As stated in the award, “The Eagle Creek 2-in-1 Ultralight Convertible Day Traveler is a simple idea brilliantly executed: For fast-moving excursions, it’s a 14-ounce backpack, but when you need more space just tug a few zippers and it converts to a 2,000-cubic-inch duffel. The whole thing stuffs into its own pocket, has lots of compartments, and can serve as a daypack or ride along in a bigger duffle in case you plan on bringing home heaps of souvenirs.

“We are really honored to have won a Gear of the Year Award from National Geographic Adventure,” said Roger Spatz, President, Eagle Creek. “Adventure has an ideal audience for our innovative product, and this recognition is a nice validation of the work we’ve done and motivator for the work we’re going to do.”

National Geographic Adventure’s Gear of the Year Awards award some of the most innovative products for the season.
