Columbia Sales Top $1 Billion in 1H’18

Columbia Sportswear has reported sales of just under $1.1 billion for the first half of 2018, an increase of 13% compared to the same period of last year on a constant-currency basis. This marks the first time Columbia topped $1Billion at this point in its fiscal calendar.

Its net income on this result was a record $54.8 million, 124% higher year on year. The group saw sales increase across all its key regions, including growth of 13% in the US.

“Our better than expected second quarter and record first half results reflect continued momentum across our brand portfolio,” said Tim Boyle, Columbia president and CEO.

Boyle singled out the prAna brand and the “positive consumer response” to its Spring 2018 range, as well as mentioning Sorel’s evolution into a year-round brand.
