Chaos Launches Fall Hat for SOS Outreach

This fall Chaos and SOS Outreach have combined efforts and selected a small collection of hats to be presented at retail and online to benefit SOS Outreach. The selected hats will be branded with a ‘SOS Outreach hang tag’ featuring their mission and values.

Chaos co-owner David Tock chose their top selling model to represent this program. Hats can be found in specialty stores nationwide and online at ChaosHats.com.

As outlined by SOS Outreach, the program has become is a multi-state organization, “that empowers the most at-risk youth to access recreation and resources to achieve their optimal potential – in education and in life – through equal parts leadership development, positive adult mentorship, and responsible outdoor adventure.” Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Eagle County, Colo., SOS now serves at-risk youth across five full time offices in Colorado, as well as Lake Tahoe, Nev., and Seattle, Wash., with part time offices in Steamboat Springs and Durango, Colo., Salt Lake City, Portland, Ore., and Detroit, Mich.

Recognized by Gatorade as one of the most influential sports-based youth development nonprofit organizations in the country through the For the Love of Sports campaign last fall, SOS makes outdoor recreation a reality for 5,000 underserved youth annually. Chaos has been a supporter of SOS for over 10 years.

“We have watched the program expand and develop into highly impressive youth empowerment for all kinds of kids, of all kinds of backgrounds. Graduating impressive young people into the work-force and with a newfound connection to the outdoors and leadership. SOS has a very special place with our company,” explains Production Director Adam Tock, who spearheads most of the donations each season.

SOS’s best-practice, evidence-based curriculum offers students ages 8-18 up to 10 years of outdoor experiential learning coupled with character development, values-based leadership training, and community service. SOS has responded to leading research that proves that high quality out-of-school programs like SOS that provide consistency and support can be vital to keeping youth on a positive and healthy path to adulthood.

“We are so excited about this program for 2017/18 with Chaos Hats,” shares Seth Erlich, Executive Director. “Our youth are big fans of the hat each season. To have a hat at retail and online this season will help contribute to our ever-growing national infrastructure. We could not be more pleased.”
