Cascade Designs Welcomes Kelly Kraus as Newest Board Member

Cascade Designs, Inc. recently welcomed outdoor industry veteran Kelly Kraus as the newest member of their board of directors. Kraus will be sharing her 35 years of experience in outdoor industry sales, product and marketing positions in her role on the board.

Kraus’ career began with Cascade Designs as a sales rep for both MSR and the rest of the Cascade Designs brands. She transitioned into the manufacturing side of the business as sales manager for MSR, then held various sales positions on the Cascade Designs side, including brand manager for Platypus, regional sales manager, and culminating in director of sales. Kraus followed her passion for paddling as director of sales and marketing for Werner Paddles, followed by becoming director of brand management for REI’s private brands. In her last role at Pacific Market International, Kraus ran the business unit for Stanley as EVP of North America.

“I’ve had a long history with Cascade Designs and our premium brands have always been near and dear to my heart,” says Kraus. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the board to continue the company’s tradition as a premier manufacturer of best in class innovative products and brands that outdoor enthusiasts love and rely on.”

In her new role, Kraus will be providing leadership and insight into the marketing, product, and sales areas of Cascade Designs. She is also joining a committee dedicated to hiring key leadership roles.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kelly to our board and excited that she’ll be bringing a wealth of experience in the outdoor industry to Cascade Designs, including working on many of our own brands over the years,” said Erik Flink, VP of Marketing for Cascade Designs. “Her passion for the outdoors is evident and we look forward to leaning on her depth of knowledge as we continue to advance and solve solutions for our outdoor community of adventurers.”

Additionally, Kraus has held board roles for a number of outdoor industry and non-profit groups such as Camber Outdoors, Big City Mountaineers, and the Outdoor Industry Association. When she’s not in the office, Kraus enjoys white water kayaking, sea kayaking, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, camping and sailing.
