Camping Imports Rise in June

U.S. imports of camping apparel and gear rose 6.17 percent to $826 million in June compared with May, according to estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau. Imports for the first six months of 2013 were $4.80 billion, up 6.24 percent from the first half of 2012.

By comparison, imports of consumer goods altogether were estimated to have declined 3.7 percent in June from May, although they are up 3.3 percent on a six-month to six-month basis.
