Blackspade Set to Enter U.S. Market

Blackspade, one of Europe’s fastest-growing luxury underwear brands, announced that it is entering the U.S. market in 2015. Owned by Narkonteks, Turkey’s largest manufacturer of luxury underwear, loungewear, activewear and swimwear for the family, Blackspade prides itself on its use of luxury fibers to create fabrics and silhouettes that provide superior fit and hand feel.

Following a soft launch in 2014 at the US Curve shows, Blackspade has opened a warehouse in Garfield, N.J. and hired a team of seasoned executives.  Mona Goldberg, former owner of women’s retail store Mona’s…Wear Else!, is Vice President of Sales and Merchandising for Blackspade.  Jeff Danzer, formerly the brand architect behind 2(x)ist underwear and most recently responsible for building and repositioning Terramar Baselayer in the outdoor and snow sports markets, is Vice President Sales and Marketing. Alex Goldberg is Director of Marketing. The company recently signed Vincent DePaul to handle celebrity outreach. Blackspade will be showing at both Curve shows as well as the SIA (Snowsports Industry Association) shows in Denver.

“We are extremely excited to bring Blackspade’s perfect fit and hand feel to the US consumer,” Aydin Karavelioglu, CEO of Blackspade USA. “Our warehouse is stocked for immediate shipments and all of our systems are in place. Since our soft launch, Blackspade is already in over 100 specialty doors in the U.S.”
