For every working stiff who has prayed for Friday to hurry up and arrive, Bass Pro Shops introduces The Workender, a free event at participating Bass Pro Shops stores across the U.S. and Canada. Held April 24 and 25, The Workender includes free seminars, giveaways and a chance to win a $7,500 prize package by participating in the 20/20 Challenge.
Participating Bass Pro Shops stores will offer free seminars on Friday, April 24 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 25 from noon to 5 p.m. Seminar topics include:
•    Cooking Down and Dirty – Presentation of cooking sets and freeze-dried food tasting.
•    Slumber by the Number – Tips and tricks for staying warm while sleeping.
•    Pack Right – Demo on how to pack a backpack for optimal comfort and load distribution.
•    Beat the Bugs – Best practices for staying comfortable and bite-free in the back country.
•    Pick Out and Get Out – Advice on selecting a kayak.
•    Streamline Your Kayak – Information about rigging a kayak for fishing.
Outdoor enthusiasts can put their gear to work and win prizes by taking the Bass Pro Shops 20/20 Challenge, which requires logging 20 miles or outdoor activity for 20 days. Signing up for the 20/20 Challenge automatically enters participants in the sweepstakes, where they can win a Workender prize package containing the following gear:
•    Ascend kayak
•    Ascend tent
•    Ascend trail backpack
•    Yeti cooler
•    Suunto watch
•    GoPro camera package
•    Much more
A special 20/20 social hour on Saturday, April 25 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. provides a great opportunity to get one-on-one expert advice on local trails, sites and more. Plus, there will be beverages and snacks while supplies last and the first 100 attendees will receive a free Workender bottle opener.
