Arc’teryx Announces Executive Leadership Change

After four years at the helm of Arc’teryx, president and general manager Vincent Wauters will be passing the leadership torch to Jon Hoerauf, who is currently the brand’s global commercial leader. Jon Hoerauf, who joined Arc’teryx in 2012, will become general manager of Arc’teryx, reporting directly to Heikki Takala, CEO of AMER Sports.

Previous to Arc’teryx, Hoerauf spent 13 years at The North Face, in various leadership roles including sales, marketing and product.

“We are very fortunate to have such a talent bench and having been able to promote from within,” said Wauters, “This provides the highest insurance of a smooth transition and a time-proven commitment to continue driving Arc’teryx at the highest level.”

During Wauter’s tenure at Arc’teryx, the brand has experienced record growth, driven by extended collaboration with existing business partners, step-changes in consumer engagement and an intense commitment to product excellence, said the company.

Under his leadership and with his support, Arc’teryx has launched major new product categories (footwear, avalanche safety), core technical advancements with Down Composite Mapping and an all-new Alpha SV Jacket. Other recent innovations including the Voltair avalanche bag and Procline ski mountaineering boot, receiving multiple industry awards. Wauter also led major investments in our Vancouver-based HQ, expanded the company’s Vancouver-based manufacturing facility, as well as spearheaded global retail expansion.

“It has been a life-transforming experience for me here at Arc’teryx. I am tremendously thankful for everything I have learned from this team, our agents and business partners,” noted Wauters. “I am delighted to pass the baton to Jon Hoerauf, who has served as our global commercial leader for the past four years. Jon is a long term industry veteran who brings both commercial experience, customer focus and an outstanding product-focused track record.”
