Fleet Feet Adds Leander Location in Central Texas

Fleet Feet, a franchisor of run specialty stores, opened its newest location in Leander, Texas. Fleet Feet Leander – which is located at 651 N. US Highway 183, Ste. 170 (HEB shopping center) – is the third store for franchise owner Mark King.

The store opened its doors May 19, with a grand opening celebration planned for June 28. This event will include vendor giveaways, raffle prizes and gifts, with purchase.

King’s other locations include Round Rock (est. 2013)  and Georgetown (2022). With over a decade of experience in the running retail industry, King has built a reputation for delivering expert service and fostering meaningful community connections across central Texas.

A former industrial construction worker, King discovered his passion for the run specialty industry in 2009 while working part time at a specialty running store in The Woodlands. He approached Fleet Feet about franchising in 2012 and opened his first store the following year.

“Fleet Feet has always been about helping people move with confidence and purpose,” said King. “Leander is one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas, and I’m excited to bring our personalized outfitting experience and community-focused approach to this area.”

The store will feature a curated selection of performance footwear, apparel and accessories from top brands, and will offer Fleet Feet’s exclusive fit id outfitting process. This includes 3D foot scanning and dynamic pressure mapping technology to provide customers with a fully customized shoe fitting experience.

As with his other two stores, Fleet Feet Leander will serve as a community hub for runners, walkers and fitness enthusiasts. Plans include group runs, training programs and social events, aimed at bringing people together through movement.

Since 2013, King has also organized an annual Turkey Trot in Round Rock, drawing about 2,000 participants while raising funds for local nonprofits such as the Round Rock Serving Center, Operation Blue Santa and the Play for All Abilities Foundation.

“Mark’s dedication to customer service, his passion for active living and his impact on the community have made him a standout franchisee,” said Fleet Feet COO, Jason Jabaut. “We’re proud to see his continued growth and excited to welcome more people in the Hill Country into the Fleet Feet family.”

For 49 years, Fleet Feet owners, operating partners and employees have created welcoming environments that allow runners, walkers and fitness enthusiasts of all abilities to conquer their goals at every level, on every surface, at every distance with personalized solutions, knowledge and empowerment. Fleet Feet’s nationwide network of community-based retail stores are a place of inspiration, showing people how, as it says, Running Changes Everything.
