Gander Mountain to Open Three Doors in Southeast

Gander Mountain announced plans to open stores in Northeast Alabama, metro Atlanta and the Florida Panhandle. New locations in Gadsden, Ala.; McDonough, Ga.; and Pensacola, Fla., are set to open in the spring of 2014.

The Gadsden store will be the sixth in Alabama, and will be located in a new 52,000-square-foot space in the new River Trace Shopping Center, just north of East Meighan Blvd.

The McDonough store will be the third in Georgia, and the first in metro Atlanta. It will be located in an existing 62,000-square-foot space at 1970 Jonesboro Road, in the Henry Town Center.

The Pensacola store will be the seventh in Florida, and the first in the Florida Panhandle. It will be located in an existing 42,900-square-foot space at 1220 Airport Blvd., just east of I-110.

The three new stores are the most recent locations announced in a sizeable expansion. In the past 18 months new Gander Mountain stores have opened in Charlottesville, Va.; Valdosta, Ga.; Morrisville, N.C.; Lafayette, Ind.; Opelika, Ala.; Florence, Ala.; Winston-Salem, N.C.; Gastonia, N.C.; Monroe, N.C.; Rogers, Minn.; Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Lewisville, Texas; Mesquite, Texas; Round Rock, Texas; and San Antonio, Texas. New stores have recently opened in Dothan, Ala; Albany, Ga.; and Tampa, Fla. For 2014, stores have now been announced for Avon, Ind.; Raleigh, N.C.; Arlington, Texas; Gadsden, Ala.; McDonough, Ga.; and Pensacola, Fla. and more new store announcements are expected.
