SylvanSport Moves into New Zealand

SylvanSport has been expanding the reach of its GO camping trailer and GO Easy gear hauler throughout North America. Starting in 2017, the SylvanSport GO will also be available in New Zealand through their dealer partner, GO Adventures.

Located in Waverley, on west coast of the North Island, GO Adventures is centrally located and is in close proximity to major cities, such as Wellington and New Plymouth, as well as the central North Island adventure towns of Taupo and Rotorua. With a background in manufacturing, management and retail, GO Adventures is set to open the New Zealand market with a depth of experience and knowledge that will allow them to grow throughout the entire country.

New Zealand is passionate about conservation and outdoor recreation. With nearly one-third of the land area dedicated as a national park or other protected areas, the dominance of small passenger vehicles and ‘utes’ (small pick up trucks), along with easy access to the coast, rivers and mountains for the majority of the population, makes New Zealand an ideal market for the lightweight versatility of the GO, said the company.

“The GO is perfectly suited for New Zealand,” states Beth Savage, GO Adventures co-owner. “The ability to use it as a camper, as well as a standard utility trailer, all while efficiently carrying bikes, kayaks and other toys, is ideal for us here. You don’t see a lot of the large trucks or SUVs in New Zealand and at 840lbs, it will allow people the ability to have a ‘do-it-all’ trailer that can be towed with just about any sized vehicle. The sleek design doesn’t hurt either.”

“While our growth into international markets is exciting, it is also something that we planned on from the beginning, so we have the infrastructure in place to meet the increase in demand while maintaining our level of service, quality and support,” said Tom Dempsey, president of SylvanSport.
