honor, and
Matt Straight
as its
2016 Rep of the Year. The honors were
awarded at Smartwool’s fall sales con-
ference in Steamboat Springs, Colo.
One of the best-known outdoor and
sn
owsports sales agencies in the Rocky
Mountain region, Mountain Source
has been with Smartwool for more
than a decade, winning Agency of the
Year three times and bringing home a
Rep of the Year two times. The agency
serves retailers in Colorado, Utah, Ida-
ho, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico
and Nebraska. “They continue to find
ways to innovate within their agency
and to explore ways to further align
with the Smartwool brand while pro-
viding world-class service to our cus-
tomers,” said Dane Howell, Smartwool
vice president of sales and marketing,
upon announcing the awards.
Working for the
Waypoint Out-
door
agency, Straight is relatively new
to Smartwool, focusing on specialty
and independent accounts throughout
the northwest region for the brand.
“Matt has excelled in all facets of the
award criteria,” said Jody Carlson,
Smartwool director of sales. “He con-
tinues to ask what more he can do to
partner with our brand and help de-
velop new business. It is his dedication
to success that we want to recognize.”
Following its return to the U.S. mar-
ket more than a year ago, Italy-based
Garmont
is re-entering the Canadian
market, as well. The company has hired
Stephen Bergeron
as general man-
ager of Canadian operations. Bergeron
is responsible for building a team of
Canadian sales representatives and
supporting retailers for Garmont. Prior
to Garmont, he worked in sales, retail
and marketing capacities for Trango
World, La Sportiva, Kayland and Ice-
bug. So far, he has appointed sales
teams in Alberta, British Columbia, On-
tario and Quebec.

represent Garmont in Alberta and Brit-
ish Columbia,
Bill Dee
will support On-
tario,
Adam Merkosky
will represent
Alberta and the Northwest Territories
and Bergeron will manage the Quebec/
Maritimes territory.
Leading Edge Sports

Woodinville, Wash., has partnered

to represent

Tubbs Snowshoes
and
Atlas
Snowshoes
products in Washington,
Oregon, Alaska, and Idaho. Formed
19 years ago, Leading Edge Sports
has received multiple agency and in-
dividual awards with long-time clients
such as Swix, Bison Designs and Pivot
