Inside Outdoor | WINTER 2021 29 PRODUCT MARKET SHOWCASE | WINTER 2021/2022 Royal Robbins For Fall 2021, Royal Robbins is introducing ReadyDry Essentials – a new line of sustainable, everyday basics. The collection comprises 14 styles for men and women made from a Bluesign-approved, 91-percent recy- cled polyester mesh that is sweat-wicking, breathable, soft and stretchy. Each ReadyDry piece is engineered with S.Café yarn technology that uses post-consumer coffee grounds to provide permanent odor con- trol and faster dry times. ReadyDry garments also feature HeiQ Smart Temp, which is a body-heat-activated thermoregulating technology that allows the fabric to dynamically respond to body temperature. The cooling function activates when you are hot and sweaty and deactivates once you cool off. SRPs range from $20 to $40. Salewa Salewa seeks to redefine the lightweight mountaineering boot with the Ortles Couloir (725 grams) for alpinists and ice climbers. Its Ankle Protector System (APS), built from a pivoting carbon fiber exoskeleton, provides support while maintaining all-day comfort. The recycled 3D PU rand provides protection from abrasion, while a waterproof nylon outer boot with YKK zipper protects users from the elements. The inner boot boasts a warm thermofelt fabric, and additional insulation over the toes works with the SALEWA Responsive technology footbed to keep feet warm on the coldest days. The Vibram Litebase outsole provides grip, traction and durability while weighing 30 percent less than a con- ventional sole. SRP is $1,000. Sunday Afternoons The new Alpine Quilted Tundra Cap keeps warmth in thanks to the PrimaLoft Cross Core insulation infused with aerogel, a cozy flannel liner and the BreezeBlocker windproof ear flaps that can be folded up and away. The Alpine Tundra Cap also is made from recycled content, has a PFC-free durable water repellent finish and is rated UPF 50+. SRP is $48. SCARPA Redesigned for Fall 2021, the Maestrale RS and women’s Gea RS (pictured) get a range of upgrades that increase power transmission to the ski while retaining the same light weight (3 lbs, 4.6 oz, size 27) and mobility (60 degrees of cuff range). A new 3D Lambda Frame construction in the lower boot uses an I-beam design to reduce flex at key stress points that exist in all ski boots. This new lower boot design works in tandem with a new Evo V Frame upper cuff, which uses a similar I-beam design to more effectively transfer power to the lower boot. The result is improved power transfer to the ski without increas- ing forward stiffness from an already substantial 125 flex, said SCARPA. Moreover, SCARPA also improves its environmental footprint by using a plant-derived Grilamid in the bi-injection carbon-infused shell. SRP for the Gea RS is $799.
