Inside Outdoor | WINTER 2019 60 Product Market Showcase | WINTER 2019/2020 PEARL iZUMi PEARL iZUMi has paired its most supportive and breathable PRO Escape 1:1 Chamois with luxurious Italian PRO transfer fabric to create its new bib short. Seven carefully engineered panels are used to minimize seaming. Wide, laser cut bib straps eliminate the need for additional binding for a barely there, yet supportive fit. The raw edge hems create a smooth transition from short to skin for a sleek, performance look and feel, with a printed silicone gripper to hold it securely in place even during hard efforts. Petzl The Nomic ice axe is perfectly balanced and equipped with weights for an exceptional swing. Pur’Ice pick provides efficient placement in any type of ice, while the shape of the ice axe and the double handle offer multiple grip modes, as well as stable hand switching. The grip is comfortable, thanks to the ergonomics of the handle and to the adjustable Griprest handrest. With a minimalist hammer, the head is pro- tected and allows the user to hammer a piton back in. Entirely modular, the ice axe can be optimized for the terrain. SRP is $300. Purist Purist designs bottles without a hint of taste, using a technology that transforms silicon dioxide into a tough glass interior. With exterior surgical-grade stainless steel, Purist bottles can confidently go from coffee to soup to beer and back again. All bottles can keep a beverage hot for 12 hours and ice cold for 24. There are also guaranteed leak-proof and supremely easy to clean, thanks to a wide brim. SRPs start at $38. Popia by Poppy Gall Popia — created and founded by designer Poppy Gall — will launch a colorful and spirited collection of premium winter hats for Fall 2019.  The double-layer hats are knit using soft, lightweight fine gauge merino wool and feature a contrasting inner pat- tern and a generous pom to top it off. The inaugural collection, initially for women, has eight styles in two to three colors each. De- signed in Vermont and crafted in Italy in small batches, SRP is $60. Picture Organic Clothing Picture has introduced a jacket with a bio-based membrane: Dryplay Bio- source, made from castor oil. This 20k/20k membrane, used on new Harvest Jacket, is just as durable and protective as the non-ecofriendly ones on the market, says Picture, taking a huge step against technical outer- wear’s dependence on petroleum. SRP is $500.
