Zamberlan The Italian bootmaker’s newest foray into hiking shoes, the El Cap comes out of Zamberlan’s factory at the base of the Dolomite Mountains. The release combines hiking performance with technical elements to increase comfort and capability for mountain guides, climbers and alpine hikers. El Cap incorporates a Vibram Ferrata Megagrip outsole for underfoot traction and tactile climbing, a Hydrobloc suede cut for ankle protection, and to-the-toe lacing, tapered toe and snug heel support to assist precision. Danner The new Mountain 600 EVO is an evolution of Danner’s awardwinning Mountain 600. The new EVO version is built for longer, more ambitious day hikes and for carrying more weight. It features a durable full-grain leather upper, an inner liner made from 100% recycled content, a cushioning open-cell OrthoLite Eco footbed, an exclusive Vibram outsole with Megagrip compound and Traction Lug technology, and a new Gore-Tex technology that uses 45% post-consumer recycled materials but offers the expected level of waterproof/breathable performance. SRP is $250. Outdoor product sales experienced a bit of a dip in 2023, marking a 3.2 percent decline in dollars sold compared with 2022 sales, according to OIA figures. But there were a few bright spots, including running footwear, casual apparel and hydration accessories. You’ll find these and plenty more in this summer’s new product showcase. SUMMER ’24 PRODUCT SHOWCASE Dynafit Dynafit’s Trail Running Shoe was created with the urban athlete in mind. The shoe offers versatile traction and durability with a Vibram XS Trek outsole for traversing city streets, trails and other terrain. It also includes an intelligent lug design for gripping surfaces, carved spaces to reduce weight and increase run flow and a SpeedLITE midsole to minimize joint stress and extend cushioning on hard surfaces. Plus, there’s a 5-mm footbed to ease roll-through. Available in men’s size 6-13, the shoe’s SRP is $150. Protalus The Cascade sandal incorporates easy slip-on / -off capability with insole pain-relief technology to extend comfort and functionality. A high-performance flat sandal it features a deep heel cup for extra cushioning and stability. This helps reduce heel stress, decrease pain and promote proper ankle alignment, preventing soreness and fatigue that can extend to one’s knees and back. SRP is $130. FOOTWEAR
