Tecnica Outdoor has added several sales reps across all regions, largely to support the growth of its fully cus- tomizable Forge hiking boot collection, which was introduced to outdoor spe- cialty retailers in February. “The initial response from some of the best U.S. specialty retailers affirms Forges’ out-of-the-box fit and the ease of the in-store customization process,” commented Sam Cook, president of Tecnica Outdoor. “Since our initial deliv- eries in late February, we have already received re-orders from more than half of our authorized retailers. Film Festival Flix is engaging the outdoor community, inspiring their passion and connecting them with the ideal gear to fuel their adventures through films and our select festival channels. IO: What do you consider your primary differentiation point from your nearest competitor(s)? Film Festival Flix believes in leveraging media, community and technology to provide win-win solutions for the outdoor community. These solutions help brands, retailers, content creators, ambassadors, advocacy organizations and outdoor enthusiasts.  IO: What is one challenge or issue faced by your wholesale customers that your company addresses, and how do you do it? As online shopping becomes more mainstream, retailers are challenged to attract customers to their stores. We provide an exhibitor subscription series whereby they can host turnkey screening events to attract customers and engage their community.  Brands spend significant marketing dollars to create films with their ambassadors but hope that consumers will keep that in mind the next time they shop. We are rolling out a direct purchase option putting this branded content side by side with featured products and the brand’s initiatives.  Filmmakers and athletes work extremely hard to create meaningful content but lack easy access to audiences beyond their own reach, or that of their sponsoring brands. We’re connecting that content with greater audiences through our festival and distribution channels to increase viewership, revenue and a sustainable audience for future content.  SPRING 2018 | Inside Outdoor 13
