Back then, the number one perceived benefit of self-checkout was avoiding long lines at check-out. Well, a desire to avoid standing in line, as well as contact with a cashier, may be even stronger today. And while steps recorded during regular daily activity were down, walking as a logged activity profile also was up, by 36% in the period. Yoga also appears to be a way folks coped with isolation during the shut- down, as yoga was up 11% in the last two weeks of March. Cycling Primed for Post-COVID-19 Faced with a need to practice social distancing, Americans quickly turned to cycling as an alternate means of essential transportation, for mental and physical health and simply to keep the kids busy.
