G oing through trustworthy accreditation is the only path a company should take once the commitment toward cleaner manufacturing is made. Choosing the appropriate vehicle to get there will depend on the nature of the business. If the company’s business deals with textiles, there are a couple such organizations within the accreditation world that stand out. Hohenstein Institute is one of those com- panies. It has been performing the work and creating the standards in textiles for the greatest period of time. In a few short years, Hohenstein’s OEKO-TEX brand has grown from one product in 1992, covering consumer safety on mostly bedding, to a global sustain- able development solution.
