Toad&Co opened a new 1,500-square-foot retail location at 1213 Washington Ave in Golden, Colo. The shop will be located on the same street as its partner, Vital Outdoors, a local gear outfitter who will handle the shop’s day-to-day operations.
The retail space will mirror Toad&Co’s existing stores in Freeport, Maine, and Portland, Ore., offering a full selection of apparel for men and women. The shop will also carry accessories, footwear and more from other brands.
“We are excited to be opening our newest retail location in the town of Golden,” said Scott Whipps, Toad&Co’s vice president of sales. “Many Colorado-natives will remember the brand, formally Horny Toad, from its Telluride roots. Plus, Golden is bustling with outdoor enthusiasts who care about sustainability and the environment. It’s a perfect fit for the brand.”
The store will support local nonprofits based out of the American Mountaineering Museum, Big City Mountaineers, Colorado 14er and Continental Trail Alliance. The store staff will also participate in local trail cleanup efforts, host local artists and musicians and have Pangea Coffee on tap during the day for customers.
