Tecnica Group USA Undergoes Leadership Change

Tecnica Group USA announced that Chris Licata (pictured) will succeed Peter Weaver as Chief Executive Officer following Weaver’s retirement, effective September 6, 2016. Weaver will continue to serve on the board of Tecnica Group USA in an advisory role.

Most recently, Licata served as the President & CEO of Blake’s All Natural Foods, an Organic and Natural food company, and led the rapid growth and eventual sale of the company to ConAgra Foods in May of 2015.

“Chris Licata is the right person to take the helm and lead the company into future years of challenges and opportunities,” said Weaver. “I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Tecnica Group during the last decade and helping to refocus the company for the challenges of our current market and economy. We have great team players throughout the company and are progressing in our markets. It is a perfect time for Chris to assume responsibility for the USA business and drive our progress into the future.”

Weaver went on to say, “Chris is a talented leader with a proven track record both within the Tecnica Group and in the industry. Over the past several years he has worked with the U.S. team as well as the international teams in Italy and Austria and there is a high level of respect for Chris as well as a high level of enthusiasm for his return. I am confident of his ability to lead the team and to clarify the pathways to future success.”

Commenting on the upcoming change, Licata said, “I am super excited to be returning to the ski industry and, specifically, to be working again with the Tecnica Group teams in the US and Europe as well as all of our retailers in the US. The ski industry has always felt like home for me and I can’t wait to be back! I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Blake’s and I’m extremely proud of what we accomplished.”

Tecnica Group SpA Chairman, Alberto Zanatta expressed his thanks to Weaver for his long, successful tenure at Tecnica and for this smooth transition.

Zanatta commented, “Peter has been a key colleague in positioning Tecnica for the future. We are pleased that he will remain on the board. Looking forward, we are very confident that our strategy for global collaboration can be very well supported by Chris, as we have seen from past experience working with him.”

Licata will officially begin on September 6, 2016. In the interim he will be transitioning his responsibilities at Blake’s as well as spending time with his family.
