Study: Weekend Camping Resets Body Clock

Researchers from the University of Colorado have presented findings that suggest a weekend in the woods can reset our body clocks to their more natural circadian rhythms, which in turn can have positive impacts on health and mood.

The researchers don’t go as far as drawing a direct correlation between camping and long-term health and happiness, but rather it has to do with getting the body in tune with more natural light cycles, due mainly to less availability of artificial light, and the known negative impacts of late circadian and sleep timing.

Here’s a link to a story on the study by the BBC, and one to the actual study published in Current Biology.
