Piggyback Rider Comes to REI

The Piggyback Rider standing child carrier for active outdoors transport has announced that it is being carried at REI stores and online at www.rei.com , including in the Seattle flagship store, Denver, Anchorage and Tustin, Calif.

“We’re thrilled the Piggyback Rider will be part of the REI family and available to their large customer base this year,” said Wayne Lifshitz, inventor of the Piggyback Rider. “REI customers are the kind of folks who’ll get the most out of the Piggyback Rider, taking their kids into the outdoors on family adventures like hiking, traveling and exploring.”

The Piggyback Rider allows users to carry a child (2½+ years) on one’s back. The unisex design incorporates standard backpack adjustments to distribute the child’s weight at the core, while they stand firmly on the tempered aluminum bar supported by the shoulder carrier. For safety, the child holds integrated grab handles and is secured by a safety harness.

“Children love the height advantage, rest, quality time and longer adventures,” the company said. “Parents enjoy being able to actively transport their toddlers while walking in a natural upright posture.”

Piggyback Rider launched in 2011, for use in “hiking, touring, shopping, walking, watching, exploring, wandering, bonding at amusement parks, carnival, sporting events, malls, markets and everywhere else,” the company said.
