Nester Hosiery Featured in ‘The Real Mayberry’ Documentary

Nester Hosiery and its brand Farm to Feet are highlighted in a new documentary film, “The Real Mayberry.” The film explores the past, present and future of Mt. Airy, N.C., the company’s and Andy Griffith’s hometown and the inspiration for television’s Mayberry.

The documentary explores America’s Favorite Hometown from an economic, cultural, and social perspectives through profiles of the many characters and businesses in the town.

“Mt. Airy is like so many small towns around the country that has lost so many of its manufacturing, and we are proud to stand as an example that manufacturing is still viable in the U.S.,” said Dave Petri, Nester Hosiery VP of Marketing.

The film was produced and directed by Mt. Airy native Bill Hayes, who is the founder of Figure 8 Films and Thunder Mountain Media and has produced numerous shows and documentaries including “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” “Nineteen Kids and Counting,” “Sister Wives” and “Salvage Dawgs.”

“Small towns and rural America are an important part of our past and critical to the future of this country,” said Bill. “We need to return to producing quality goods, and Nester Hosiery is a great example of that.”

The Real Mayberry premiered last Saturday night in Mt. Airy’s Earle Theatre. The film is available now on Amazon and iTunes to rent or own. For more information on the film and to watch the trailer visit www.therealmayberry.com.
