Fleet Feet Adds South Carolina Franchise

Fleet Feet Sports, the retail leader in building and supporting thriving local running communities, announces that the husband-and-wife team of Paul and Cathy Rogers opened a new Fleet Feet Sports franchise location in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Dec. 8. With the addition of the Myrtle Beach location, Fleet Feet Sports now has a total of six locally owned and operated locations in South Carolina, with one store each in Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Columbia, Fort Mill, and Greenville.

“What really has made the Fleet Feet Sports brand special over the past 40 years is the passion of our owners, that all of our stores are locally owned and operated, and that for a majority of our stores, running the business is a family affair,” said Jeff Phillips, CEO and president of Fleet Feet Sports.

The store is located in the Village Shops at Grand Dunes shopping center at 7931 North Kings Highway. The Rogers’ son Shawn has joined the team as store manager.

Paul Rogers, a U.S. Military Academy graduate, spent four decades in the industrial and medical industry. Cathy Rogers has a master’s degree in education and taught middle school students for over 30 years. Shawn Rogers graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in marketing and has spent the last seven years in retail management.

The store is currently conducting a marathon training program in preparation for the March 2017 Myrtle Beach Marathon, the first of many running programs the store will offer to the community.  Paul Rogers says that bi-weekly pub runs and a Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday fun run will begin shortly after the store opens, along with in-store yoga classes. A grand opening event will take place in January, with more details to come in the new year.

“We want to be a tremendous resource for the community, and look forward to making a difference,” said Paul Rogers.
