Dunham’s Opens Two Doors in Upper Midwest

Always much better to report than store closings, Dunham’s Sports will hold grand opening ceremonies this weekend at stores in Adrian, Mich., and Shawano, Wisc. The Troy, Mich-based retailer sporting goods store also has announced plans to open its first store in Kansas, according to reports in the The Hutchinson News.

The Adrian store is opening at a new location at Adrian Mall at 1357 S. Main Street.

“Moving and re-opening this bigger store will allow us to better serve the sporting goods needs of Adrian and shows our continued commitment to the area,” said Jeff Lynn, chairman and chief executive officer of Dunham’s Athleisure Corporation. “Dunham’s prides itself on providing our customers with a wide variety of top-quality, value oriented, name-brand merchandise at everyday low prices.”

With the re-opening of the Adrian location, there are 66 Dunham’s Sports in the state of Michigan and over 225 chain wide.

The Shawano store is located at the new 1211 East Green Bay Street location. There are 22 Dunham’s Sports locations in the state of Wisconsin.

Founded in 1937 in Detroit as Dunham’s Bait and Tackle, Dunham’s has opened 17 new locations since January 2015 and is now doing business in 20 Midwestern and Southern states.
