Action Wipes Aims to Eliminate ‘Wipes Waste’

A dirty secret in the body wipe industry is that all wipes are not recyclable, biodegradable, compostable or reusable, says Curt Van Inwegen, a partner at San Luis Obispo-based Life Elements, which makes Action Wipes body wipes. “And flushable wipes are a world-wide disaster for waste-water treatment plants in cities from New York to London to Sydney,” he says.

Long advocating the repurposing or “upcycling” of its products, the company continues to innovate with the release of its Action Wipes ReCharger, which allows for the re-uses of its marquee Action Wipes product.

“Besides the natural ingredients, the difference in our wipes has always been its durability and cleaning ability for outdoor enthusiasts,” said Martha Van Inwegen, Life Elements president. “We believe that quality becomes an environmental discussion because the durability of our product allows it to be used over and over again – thereby providing significantly more value to the consumer as well as reducing waste and the carbon footprint of a consumable product.”

Life Elements will be providing a special Action Wipes ReCharger Kit to qualified media for review at its booth (#PV3278) in the Pavilion at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, August 5-8 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
